Elizabeth Jane Hurley (born Elizabeth Jane Hurley) is an English actress, model and the former Hugh Grant girlfriend. She was famous by the late 1990s. When Hugh Grant's movie Four Weddings and a Funeral was the focus of worldwide media attention, Hurley accompanied Grant to the film's Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace dress with gold safety-pins. It instantly brought her media recognition. Hurley's association with Estee Lauder, a cosmetics manufacturer, has been regarded as a high point in her career. Hurley's first modelling job was at Estee Lauder, when she was 29 years old. The model has been modeling since 1995 for the company's products, particularly perfumes such as Sensuous Intuition or Pleasures. In the popular spy comedy films International Man of Mystery (1997) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1998), she played Vanessa Kensington. Hurley has been modeling and designing a beachwear collection named after her. Perry's efforts to achieve popularity in the mainstream were unsuccessful. Before new material could even be put out the two major labels signed but then removed Perry. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. Ur So Gay's title song was a fun and playful song that attracted minimal attention. "I Kissed" a Girl was a more assertive ode sexism with a sharp edged electronic-pop beat. This song sparked controversy, and some critics accused it of encouraging the same-sex relationship and others saying that the sexually explicit scenario depicted was designed to appeal to the male fantasies. I Kissed A Girl's mix of sensuality, polished music and a catchy chorus helped to make it a top ten song across a range of countries. The result was the album The One of the Boys (2007) being a big success. The album's second single Hot N Cold also proving well-loved, the album that Perry composed herself, eventually saw greater than three million copies within the United States.
